About Me

I am a graduate from Arizona State University with a degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in mathematics and Masters level training in Educational Counseling. I hold a state of Arizona Standard Elementary Teaching Certificate with an SEI endorsement. I am Highly Qualified under the NCLB Act. This fall begins my nineteenth year as a classroom teacher in the Gilbert Unified School District. I have taught 3rd, 5th and 6th-grades at Greenfield, Ashland Ranch and Playa del Rey Elementary schools.

My summers are spent working with the East Valley Chamber of Commerce and Wilkes University in the STEAM Scholars Project Summer Institute. For the last two years I have been working with GPS on various Science Grant programs and aligning the Science curriculum to State standards I am married (30+ years) and have two adult sons of whom I am very proud. I enjoy spending time with my family and my animals; I also enjoy painting and drawing, movies, baseball, science fiction and am a big fan of Disney. It is my desire to have free and open communications with all of my families. During the year, you will be hearing from me at least weekly via e-mail, notes sent home or by phone. Parents are always welcome to visit and participate in class. If you are having any family issues that involve school, questions or concerns, contact me. There are always ways to help, but I can't help if I don't know.
